Privacy
This site does not use any tracking cookies. Instead I use plausible.io, which is a privacy focused, GDPR, CCPA and PECR compliant analytics tool hosted in the EU.

The short version: they combine visitor-specific information, like IP and the kind of browser your’re using, and hash it. That already makes it impossible to relate the information back to a user. Additionally they add a random string of characters that changes daily to avoid fingerprinting.
What is hashing?
Hashing turns data into a scrambled, fixed-length code that can’t be reversed — so the original info isn’t stored or recoverable.
For example, take my birthday: 1987-02-09. We could hash it by calculating the cross total repeatedly until we only have one digit left

1+9+8+7+0+2+0+9 = 36
3+6 = 9
This would of course yield 9 every time. By adding a random number into this, the result will change because of it.

5+0 = 5
Our made up rule will can only have 10 different results. So most hashing algorithms are substantially more complex - and there are a bunch of other use cases for them too.
But in a nutshell, that’s what Plausible does with your information before storing it.
I highly value privacy, and if you ever find something that you feel like would violate such a claim, it’s probably unintentional. So please, reach out and let me know!

Liability for Content
The contents on my website have been created with the greatest possible care. However, I cannot and do not guarantee the contents’ accuracy, completeness, or topicality. According to Section 7, paragraph 1 of the TMG (Telemediengesetz - German Telemedia Act), I - as a service provider - am liable for the content on these pages by general laws.

Obligations to remove or block the use of information under general laws remain unaffected.
